Subaru had some great news to share with everyone at the start of 2025, namely the fact that it had set a new domestic sales record in 2024.
And what's incredible is that the company knew as early as the beginning of December that it had beaten its previous mark, which means it didn't just beat its own record; it smashed it.
In concrete terms, Subaru Canada recorded an all-time sales total of 68,043 units in 2024. The previous record, set in 2018, saw the company sell 58,070 models in the country. As mentioned, it had already beaten the mark at the end of November, as 4664 models were sold in December.
And December was an interesting month, as it represented a 23.8% increase over the same period in 2023. This bodes well for 2025.
It's an excellent sign for the brand which, in addition to offering solid and popular models, is set for an even more interesting year with the arrival of the Forester hybrid in the spring.
With a record year, it's no surprise that several models have had a spectacular year. The Solterra electric SUV had an impressive December, ending the year with 2,468 units sold.
The Forester and Crosstrek SUVs also recorded historic year-to-date sales. We're talking about a total of 16,376 units for the Forester and 28,303 for the Crosstrek.
Even the Impreza sedan had an excellent year, with sales up 46.1% on 2023 to 3276 units.
And the future looks rosy, with the Outback model about to be redesigned, and which may well feature a hybrid powertrain too, if what we hear through the walls is anything to go by.
More than ever, Subaru products are seducing consumers, who are choosing them in ever greater numbers, proof that they are perfectly adapted to the Canadian reality and the needs of the people here.
